School Visits

Come and discover some of the fascinating key objects in the museum’s collection during a tour with members of the education team.

Pupils will learn about the history of the old police cells and the development of policing. The tour supports areas of the curriculum such as Crime and Punishment, Local History, and Technology at Key Stage 2.

We also offer tours for GCSE and FE students on request and a tour for EYFS pupils learning about people who help us.

We offer 1 hour class tours on Monday two slots are available: 11-12 and 1-2. We can be flexible on the tour times if you require an earlier or later start.

If you are ready to book, you can do so online through our booking system. The cost is £3 per pupil.

Full refund or future credit if a cancellation request has been received at least 48 hours before the activity.

Loan Boxes

We have put together museum loan boxes for schools. These will contain objects and items of uniform from our collection which, together with a range of activities, will bring the history of policing to the classroom.

Loan hire fee is £30 maximum loan period of 4 weeks
